Grouts for your individual requirements

MC's Emcekrete product systems are the result of continuous research and development combined with our 60 years of practical experience. Emcekrete meets the highest requirements in terms of performance and durability of the potted components. With Emcekrete, you can undergrout the foundations of steel components with a frictional connection and grout steel and concrete components without any voids.

Your Advantages

  • High flowability

Emcekrete grouts are dry mixtures of cement, mineral aggregate, concrete admixtures and materials that can be easily mixed with water on the construction site. The result is highly flowable systems that allows easy and quick processing.

  • High durability

Emcekrete grouts are characterised by their particularly high hardened concrete properties, e.g. flexural strength and compressive strength, impermeability to water, frost de-icing salt resistance, etc.

  • Proofed quality

Emcekrete grouts fulfil the criteria of the DAfStb guideline – “Production and use of cement-bound grouting concrete and grouting mortar.”. They are also certified according to DIN EN 1504, Part 6 or Part 3, depending on the product.

  • Sustainibility

Emcecreted grouts are sustainable and fulfil the criteria of the German Sustainable Building Council. They are listed in the DGNB Navigator.

Benefit from a wide range of applications

Emcecreted grouts are indispensable in general concrete construction. A wide range of applications, such as the grouting of concrete elements, rigid joints between precast elements and precast beams in sleeve foundations, can be realised quickly and safely with Emcekrete products. Emcekrete grouting products are equally well suited for applications in steel construction. Examples are undergrouting machines, grouting of crane runway rails, steel supports and numerous steel fixtures in concrete. Classic applications of Emcekrete products are illustrated below.

Overview of application areas

person
Columns

Products: Emcekrete 50, 60, 70, 100

For load distribution on the concrete foundation, steel columns have a steel base plate, which is usually mounted on support plates and clamped with anchor bolts. MC grouting products are then used to grout the gap between the steel plate and the foundation.

person
Steel components

Products: Emcekrete 50, 60, 70, 100

Grouting products are capable of swelling and fill cavities completely. They are used when frictional connections are to be build between concrete and steel components. They are also used to protect steel components, such as screws, from corrosion.

person
Sleeve foundations

Products: Emcekrete 50, 60

Sleeve foundations are precast elements in the shape of a cup and are used for the foundation of precast columns. After inserting and aligning the supporting colums, the void between these two precast elements is filled with MC grouting products in order to achieve a force-fit and permanent connection.

person
Bridge bearing

Products: Emcekrete 50

Bridge bearings have a central function in a bridge structure, as they transmit forces to the supporting structure and at the same time allow the bridge to be decoupled, thus compensating for linear expansions and vibrations. MC grouting products are used to grout these bearings permanently and smoothly.

person
Crane runway rails

Products: Emcekrete 60, 70, 100

Rails used to guide a crane runway must be aligned for a measured load. To do this, they are aligned and anchored in milled grooves. The rails are then grouted so that the forces that occur during operation are effectively transferred into the ground.

person
Drainage channels

Products: Emcekrete 50, 60

When drainage channels are installed, a joint is created to the left and right of the channel by design. This is filled with a grouting product from MC. The formation and sealing of joints must be carried out in accordance with the applicable standards. For this purpose, a corresponding joint plan must be prepared by the planner.

person
Reprofiling concrete components

Products: Emcekrete 50, 60

Grouts are used as repair concretes for the re-profiling of concrete components in accordance with the applicable standards. It's very easy: just form it, pour it and you're done.

person
Wind turbines

Products: Emcekrete WP 108

Wind turbines have different types of construction methods, but the foundation of all of them has a grouting joint that has to be filled. This joint is between the steel or concrete tower and the foundation. Depending on the dimension of this grouting joint and the requirement profile, select a suitable MC grouting product.

person
Fence and pole construction

Products: Emcekrete DBS

Railing and fence posts as well as poles are securely grouted with MC grouting products. First, they are aligned and fastened. Then the grouting is carried out for permanent stability.

person
Underpacking

Products: Emcekrete UFM

Underpacking mortars are stable high-performance mortars that are used for underfilling structural components such as precast walls and lintels. For void-free and durable underfilling.

person
Anchor holes

Products: Emcekrete SFM

Anchor holes, which are to be filled after stripping the formwork, are to be treated with swellable and particularly thixotropic mortars. We also recommend the appropriate tools for this purpose.

person
Precast concrete joints

Products: Emcekrete SFM, MFT, UFM.

Horizontal and vertical joints between precast elements are filled after installation on site. Choose a product from our Emcekrete systems and you will have a secure joint depending on your requirements.

Processing Instructions

Emcekrete grouts consist of a dry mixture of cement, mineral aggregate and, if necessary, concrete admixtures and/or concrete additives. They are manufactured in the factory, stored in a dry place and protected from the weather. The products are mixed with water at the installation site and produced according to separate working instructions. They are processed in a flowable consistency. You can find out here what special attention should be paid to during processing.

How to use Emcekrete grouts

person
Requirements for the formwork

The formwork must be tight and non-absorbent. Moisture-resistant particleboards are particularly suitable for this. The height of the formwork must exceed the grouting height so that subsequent curing is possible. It is also important to ensure that the space to the lateral formwork, e.g. to a support, should be as small as possible and should never exceed 50 mm. This way you reduce a possible risk of cracks.

person
Substrate preparation

The substrate must be free of adhesion-reducing contaminants, such as grease, oil, rod and cement slurry. Destroyed or damaged surfaces must be removed until a load-bearing concrete is present again. Use a suitable concrete release agent from the MC Ortolan series.

person
Pre-wetting

The concrete surface to be grouted must be thoroughly and sufficiently pre-wetted. Multiple pre-wetting is required for highly absorbent substrates. Any excess water must be completely removed so that no puddles are formed.

person
Mixing

Grouts are mixed using a compulsory mixer or a slow-running stirrer (max. 400 rpm). The grout is sprinkled into the clean water provided and broken up without lumps. Only complete bags may be mixed. The mixing time must not be less than 3 minutes.

person
Installation

Immediately after mixing, the grout is installed. To avoid air pockets, pour continuously from one side only. Pouring should be done from one side, usually from the longer side. The flowing process can be supported by poking with a wire loop.

person
After-treatment

Freshly poured grouting concretes and grouting mortars develop a lot of heat depending on the thickness of the paving and therefore require curing. For example, the formwork overhang can be flooded with water or covered with water-retaining foils. In addition, liquid after-treatment agents from the Emcoril range can be used.
